When to replace bike frame?

Quick question for those of you in the know. I currently ride a GT-Team Lotto bike frame (the ones from 2002) with Campy Record. It’s made from Easton 6061 aluminum. The question is this: I have a monster bike season coming up with a long cross country bike ride planned, several tris, and an Ironman, and I want to know how many miles a frame like mine can take before it’s time to get a new one. It already has about one season on it (10,000 miles) but this year I will put close to 20,000 miles on it. Will that kill my baby by the end of the season? By the way, I weigh about 175, I’m 6’ 2" tall and I ride on good pavement all of the time.

Thanks for the help!

I have an AL bike I just replaced after about 60,000 miles on it. The frame is still in great condition except for the paint. I think today’s bikes will outlast the rider. Good luck on your travels.

You will probably get 100-200,000 miles out of a frame and you will replace it beacause you are bored with it. Have fun putting in your miles.
