When not to use a disc

Well do let me know which ones you’re doing. I’ll keep company with the supermodel while you race.

The only time I don’t is once a year in Hawaii at the 70.3 were it is not allowed.

Otherwise always. Doesn’t really get windy enough here to be a real decision.

there is a very winning master’s racer in the NE (who’s name I’ve forgotten) who rides a disk in CX.

well… i guess that theory is shot then

i know back in the day there were some discs in the downhill mtb world, not sure if they still do that.

Cross country guys used that disc also, both Tomac and Overend. It was a different type of disk, It used a regular hub and rim. The disc portion was a kevlar cord that was fastened adaptors that when in the holes for the spokes. The cord was embeded in a fiber glass cover.

Two issues, it wasn’t very durable and it cost about $500 20 years ago. That just bought you the “spokes”, you still had to buy the rim, hub and pay to have it built. Mostly it was used for comfort, as no bikes then had rear suspension.
