When Does IM Arizona Sell Out

Just about to get on a 13 hour flight, so I’ll have some time to ponder…but will it even be open when I land on the ground and get to my hotel?

I was curious also, and it’s already sold out. Community fund slots only for 2011

I guess that’s good. I don’t need to spend the next half day thinking about what I should do!

WOW. Thought for sure iot would be longer that an hour! I got the wife registered and am very glad I got on Active at 2PM EST. She would have been pissed!

you see, Dev - St. George is still open.

?

Registration was open for about 35 minutes today before selling out general registration slots.

That is amazing. That was a lot faster than IMFL.

but slower than last year.

Doesn’t surprise me. I’ve now done both IMAZ and IMFL. While I’d happily go back to IMAZ I’ll never go back to IMFL. Something about that race just didn’t sit right with me. I didn’t like the town, the facilities, the course, etc. About the only thing that I liked about it was that it was an easy day’s drive from my house in Texas.

Funny…,my feelings were the opposite.

My 2011 IMAZ journey started today with getting signed up. That’s half the battle of doing an IM. Now for the other half. Let the training begin!

Thanks! Glad to hear from someone that has done both.

Did IMFL this year and planned on doing IMAZ in 2011. Wanted to try different races (70.3 and 140.6) and never planned on doing the same one twice but had three friends sign up for IMFL in 2011. Even though I told them the plan was to do IMAZ. They wanted a backup plan :).

Ended up signing up for 2011. I did watch much of the IMAZ video yesterday. Much to my wifes amazement found the video great to watch. But I really would not like doing three laps on the bike. I think it would be really congested. Definitely stronger pro field at IMAZ.

I haven’t done LP or CDA, but having done Florida, Arizona, Kona, and Wisconsin - Florida is my least favorite. My only reason for wanting to go back is because I need to redeem myself on that course.

PCB seems to much like the Wisconsin Dells to me - and I’m just not into a touristy town.

Tempe - I registered for next year.

no IMFL for the Sentania triple ala Joe B?

After getting onto the registration page and filling it out in about 5 minutes, active wouldn’t accept my credic card. After trying multiple (total of 30 minutes ) times with multiple cards and my wifes card, she tried to register me, filled info out and price was $1207.50. We did nothing, I called Active and was on hold for 20 minutes before I payed the $1207.50. Am I in for the community fund price, or is there any remidies?

Sounds like the community fund price to me - that or you registered twice.

Naw I think two is my limit.

Maybe once I have two good ones in a year I can try for three, but two is good enough.

The three loops on the bike really are not that big of an issue - at least to me. I’m an average biker at best though. I imagine if you’re someone riding close to or under 5 hours you might be doing significantly more passing on your second and third loops.

I was very cavalier about signing up this morning assuming I’d have hours. Glad I didn’t take too long! It’ll be my first IM since IMCali 01 so all I need now is a new bike, wetsuit, wheels, masters team, shoes, aero helmet…

“PCB seems to much like the Wisconsin Dells to me - and I’m just not into a touristy town.”

PCB is NOT a tourist town in November. That time of year it’s a GHOST TOWN. Perfect time for a race.
