Can someone please give me some advice, I’m new to the Sport.
I am going to buy my first bike, my question is, I’m 5’7" 150 lbs should I get 700 or 650 wheels and what are the advantages or disadvantages to either one.

You’re on the boarder of whether you should be on 650c or 700c, it would depend on your torso length and reach. I’ll let Tom or one of the others more knowledgeable in fitting discuss that.
Advantages of 650c are better acceleration and climbing. You also might feel that they handle better. 700c might feel smoother and roll better. It’s important to remember that this is all individual and you might not notice any of it.
Unless you already have nice 700c race wheels, at your height I would go with 650c.
Hey thanks allot, that helps me out
.
Really, you shouldn’t look at wheel size and instead look at the bike that fits you best. There is much debate about which wheel size is actually better. In actuality, there is little difference between the two.
At your height, I’d think there would be more options available to you in a 650 wheel size (there seem to be more frames out there that can get you more aggressive riding on 650 than 700s, if that’s what you’re looking for). FWIW, I’m 5’9"… used to ride 700c but am now riding 650c.
Like the others said, you’re on the border. You could go 650’s or 700’s depending on your inseam, torso size, etc. Most inportant is get on some and try them out for fit (Put blinders on for wheel size) and see what feels best. If you already had a road bike with 700’s, I’d say maybe try to go for 700’s (Roadies will usually say go with 700’s, but for shorter people that’s not possible or the optimal fit always), but since you’re starting with one bike go with what “fits” and feels best. I know good cyclists that are 5’9" & ride 650’s and I know one’s that are 5’4" and ride 700’s. It’s all in what fits you best!
Thanks again for the help
I feel much more confident making the choice now
I did test out a few bikes and armed with your input I’m going to get the Caliente with 650’s
it felt the most comfortable and I also felt confident on it
