I think wheat products might be enemy #1 for me, too gross to talk about, but I was wondering if anyone here knows anything about it.
Google told me some tachnical stuff so I need the wisdom of the forum to help round out my learning.

Bump.

Why do you think this is a problem?
You can do a Wheat Intolerance Test. Very simple. All that need to be done is a blood test. The lab will check for the presence of specific IgA antibodies.
What are your symptoms? It might not be related to wheat.
Finally, reading your posts for over a year, wheat is not your number 1 enemy.
You might be allergic to gluten. I have two friends that have that allergy and get very sick if they eat even the smallest amount. They make gluten free flour and several types of breads and pastas that use something like tapioca flour to get around it. Go to the doctor and I think they can run a special test, or they might have you keep a food diary to see what triggers it.
For about the last decade I have to go #2 about 5-7 times a day with almost zero warning. I talk pinched butt cheeked sprints for the men’s room. I have tried everything but couldn’t get it under control.
On NPR they had a story about people with horrorfic (way worse then mine) bowel problems and exhaustion (a problem I am having). How the people fixed it was by cutting all the gluten out of thier diet. So I figure I am going to give it a go.
Tibbs,
Sound like IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). Can be exacerbated by glutens. Also some perscription drugs can chew up the gut, don’t know what you may/may not be on these days or if taking a drug coresponded to the onset of your symptoms. My wife’s office specializes in working with athletes who have similar issues. She is a nutrition coach. Her boss is a naturopath and has been sucessful in treating many elite level endurance athletes with gut problems. He’s currently working with several Pro’s in the triathlon world.

Good luck.
Thank you kind sir.
It may not be an allergy, but something called Celiac disease. It’s when your body does not digest gluten. My daughter has it, so if you have any questions I’d be happy to help. Basically you can’t eat anything containing wheat, malt, barley, rye and oat (unfortunately, those are in a lot of things, and often hidden in ingredients not listed). If untreated, it could lead to more serious problems, like diabetes.
The best thing is you can “cure” it by eating a proper, gluten-free diet, which is not as hard as it sounds. It ain’t easy, but it’s possible. If you have it, you have it for life. Since processed foods and most junk food contain gluten, you’ll be eating a much healthier diet by cutting it out.

PM me if you wish. I’ve learned a lot!
