Hot summer day = Sam Adams Summer with either a wedge of lemon or orange.
I actually believe it is the combination of the sweetness of the lemonade and the beer that kind of does it in for me. I don’t care for really sweet things in beer unless it is not really beer at all. For instance I had a blueberry beer, which was more like a winecooler then beer, which was good.
Other then that I like citrus, but not sweetness unless it’s almost sans hops. I’ve had a few “Fruity” IPA’s that I couldn’t stomache either.

I love shandys … 1/3 fresh lemonade, 2/3 good quality Wheat beer or perhaps fruity IPA.
Nice beer: any barley wine.
Hot summer florida day: blue moon
Fall/winter: amber bock or an old fashioned.

So I have never heard of this summer shandy until I was reading this thread, its getting hot out so I bought some the other day and thought they were good the wife drank most of them. so I just bought a 12 pack today of them and after mowing the lawn and doing stuff around the house this beer is really refreshing! I really never liked fruity beer but this one is different I could pound the hole 12 pack right now if I did not have to work at 6 tonight.
Sam Adams Porch Rocker is pretty awesome.
I *hated *that one, sorry

Still not sure why Oberon Day is not a national holiday. Thanks for nothing Obama

Fixed the punctuation and small typo
haha…I appreciate good craft beers as much as anyone, but bud light is mighty tasty on a hot day. Miller Lite is dog piss however.

It depends on how my day has been going calorie-wise.
If I have been behaving lately: Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/252/731/
And if I haven’t: Molson Canadian 67 http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/433/53806/
Molson 67 has actually about 70 calories to the bottle, so I can have a few guilt-free. It’s not the greatest though, as it’s pretty watery. It’s motivation to stay on track!
Mama’s Lil Pils for non-local.
Yella?

To me a Shiner Bock is perfect for a super hot day. Normally I really like really good craft beer or good Belgian beer, but on a hot day Shiner is refreshing and light. If I am already cooled off, then I really like something more substantial like Big Eddy’s Imperial Stout, any of the Great Divide Brewery beers like the Yeti, and pretty much any IPA or double IPA…all typically in the 7-10% ABV range.
Something sessionable that I can have 3 or 13 of…
Rising Tide Maine Island Trail Ale
Founders All Day IPA
Allagash House Beer
