What's your favorite song right NOW?

I’ve been listening to Charlie Parr, as in:

or another:

.

Oh I dig. I dig big.

Is the lead vocals in this one

http://www.youtube.com/...&feature=related a regular member of the group or associated for this song?

In the YouTube comments it says that it’s Richy Havens singing, and it does sound like Haven’s voice. Groove Armada are for the most part mixers, so I am guessing that they have lifted the Haven’s vocals and put them into their own groove, so to speak!

Good stuff.

Ya man…a friend told me about them…very fierce.

Actually, I’ve been going back through my Wings and McCartney. I can’t get Mamunia out of my head.

Do we all just try to come up with the most obscure, non-money making bands we can find out there? How come nobody ever fesses up and says somebody like Kelly Clarkson sings their all-time favorite song du moment? What’s up with that?

Are you replying to me? I don’t think Paul McCartney is an obscure non-money maker.

BK,

It’s a phenomenom best explained by the concept of the Long Tail ( see link below) where people listen to the music that they actually like, that they may have found on their own, and not what top-40 radio charts are telling them to like. That model has reached it’s end point and is in decline.

Example: There has never been an ambient-dub tune that has made it into any top-40 chart in the world. But their are many fans of ambient dub all over the world. And there are web sites and blogs devoted to it. You can go to iTunes or other online music sites and search for ambient dub tracks, down-load them and listen to your hearts content.

OH MY GOD! That song is soooo freshman year, Carolina frat party special! Love it. I particularly love what appears to be the country line dancing moves in a disco song. And my, the special effects are outstanding! LOL

Best part was my old sister and I were partying down to it when I visited her at WVU and I heard her singing the lyrics. I realized she was saying something along the likes of “you justify my means”. And I’m like, what did you just sing, because it’s “you dropped a bomb on me”. To this day we call it “you justify my means” and laugh like idiots.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I’m I-tuning it now.
