What's the next great challenge?

reading paul’s story about souza’s epic race (if you haven’t read it yet, do so immediately) has got me to thinking:

what’s next?

i’ve been in tri/multisport for 11 years and am keen to find something new to keep myself interested. i’ve raced sprint to half, draft and non, small-town races to nat’l champs. i’ve won races and finished dead last. i’ve also run a couple of marathons, climbed some mountains, and raced mountain bikes. i also got into xc skiing a couple of years ago and raced the birkie. haven’t done ironman, but not sure if i want to.

i’m 25, by the way, and live in canada. in jan. i’m moving to toronto for a few years, with intermittent trips to southern africa.

the entire vibe of paul’s story seemed perfect - something goofy and challenging, just like tri seemed when i started.

so: now taking suggestions on my next challenge.

“what’s the next great challenge?”

  1. Being the best father that I can be.

  2. Being the best partner that I can be.

  3. Staying healthy and fit so that I can live a long and satisfying life.

it sounds like an Ironman is just the thing for you.
