Whats the difference in a Prologue and a time trial

Prologue is less than 8K, if you dont finish you get the same time as the slowest rider. Longer than 8K then you need to finish in less than 25% off the winners time.

In addition to the other facts mentioned, if you don’t make it to the finish in the prologue, you can still compete in the Tour. If you don’t cross the finish line in the Stage 1 time trial, your tour is over.
