I saw a nice set of easton carbon bars at my LBS for about $220 and a pair of Aluminum 3TTT Less199 for $100. Both are very light. Is carbon worth the extra dough?? All I have heard is that carbon bars are more trouble than they are worth (easy to over torque, delaminate, chip, some not suitable for aerobars etc…). I generally like 3TTT’s shape and the way they feel with campy shifters mounted to them.
Though not specifically on Carbon bars versus Aluminum, there was a thread on the Reynolds Carbon bars that had a discussion about aluminum and carbon.

Hope that helps a little.
Get the 3T bars, pretty light and you can put clip on aero bars on them. They are only about 15 grams heavier than Easton carbon bars.
At this point of product development you counldn’t pay me to ride carbon road bars. Maybe in a few more years… or maybe not.
I have a set of the Easton Carbon bars, pretty good until you hit a pothole etc pretty hard , then the slip like hell , even with a carbon specific stem and face plate
