Ghost 2……msrp remains $100 in the old version outsole was recessed, the new one is more standard with a new blown rubber forefoot. Rest of shoe should fit same, but midfoot should be snugged up a little, has new sockliner with increased heel and forefoot cushion and a raised arch area for better arch contact. Reduced and thinned the overlays on the upper.

Ravenna…. $100 msrp …a new guidance category shoe (mild stability) replaces the axiom in their line-up. Named for an avenue in Seattle (Brooks hq) that leads to many favorite running loops. BioMogo midsole…built on the last of the ghost with a softer than usual midsole durometer for brooks (trying to capture some of the normal asics 2100 series customers) new well cushioned sockliner “profile” which also raises contact up to the arch. Also features a midfoot lacing system to lock in midfoot better. Good looking shoe!

Trance 9…msrp is $140 7/1/09 beefed up midfoot area from Trance 8 and uses a softer durometer midsole. The PDRB feature has been changed to improve the pronation controlling ability yet have very smooth transition. Has better forefoot blown rubber in outsole. Now features “sandwiched” E-fusion in rear and forefoot for improved cushion also. More forefoot flex with increased amount of lateral release. No widths

Lauch…a new neutral racing/training shoe mens 9.3 oz womens 7.5 oz so is a weight which is almost a “tweener” between lightweight performance and racing. Is on a slightly more curved last than normal though. Msrp $90

I tried the Ghost 2 which is supposed to be for running off the ball of your foot. I have a high arch and use a neutral shoe. The shoe was comfortable and felt like it assisted in running off the balls of the
foot.
as mentioned above, the ravenna is taking the place in the line-up for the axiom, and frankly the ravenna looks great. I think it is going to do very well in this mild stability category. Always difficult when a shoe you like gets dropped, sorry
Is the Axiom going away? What is the replacement/equivalent?
It’s being dropped. No replacment for now but the Ravenna will be the closest Brooks shoe to it. The Ravenna is designed to go after the Asics 2140 and is a little heavier than the Axiom.
What takes place of the Radius model? The Radius 6 and 7 were my favorite shoes and they stopped making them last year.
IMO, the Dyad is the most similar Brooks shoe to the Radius. The base of the Radius kept getting wider, straighter and flatter much like the Dyad. They didn’t need two shoes that were so similar so the Radius got dumped.
have had a few people say they notice slightly less support in the 9 than the 8, but frankly to me it doesnt seem that much different. They try not to make big changes in it as it is their “Go to shoe” (GTS)

Adrenaline GTS 9 01/01/09 Price increase to $105. 4 widths for men and womens with narrow through Xwide. 2 colors for men and womens from the start, but only 1 color in the widths. New configuration to heel strike area to both control motion at impact and create smoother, softer transition into midstance. New saddle configuration to maintain midfoot wrap, but this time with less materials. Goal as usual to provide supportive yet comfortable feel. No big changes to overall fit/performance. “If it aint broke don’t fix it”
They have nice collection of shoes…are these still available this year? Or they have the latest design for 2010? I like the pink one, though it looks expensive…
