What would you rather be doing this weekend?

I think there is way too much tapering/recovery going on given the post race of IMC and IMKY and the pre race of IMWI. So who else is going out of their minds because they can’t go do a mega weekend workout over the Holiday? What would you rather be doing?

Personally I am chomping at the bit to get on my Mountain bike and just spend all weekend on it. Maybe I would MTB bike on Saturday and mix in some Cyclocross the rest of the weekend, but IMOO taper prevents that from happening.

hmm, maybe I should go clean/tune my bikes…

When you’re done with yours, you’re welcome to come give mine a good clean/tune for Lake St. Louis tomorrow.

You should come out and spectate/volunteer. Watch Kristin go for the repeat. I rode the bike course with her at last Sunday’s practice day (without knowing who she was). I finally had to ask her. She’s stronger on the bike than the guys I train with. LOL!

I can’t wait to see what you do at Wisconsin. What’s your goal? 10:15-ish?

Steve

Joe is doing a 2 day sailing regatta in taper for IMWI. I am sure he will try to get a swim off the boat in between races.

OOOH! that sounds like fun.

I would rather be back on the island. It’s Pack All Of My Things And Move To School Weekend.

Let’s see… Pam Anderson on the right of me, naked. Carmen Electra to the left of me, naked. Jenny McCarthy in front of me, yeah…naked. A keg of beer, a bottle of viagra, overlooking the caribbean. Toes in the sand and a million in the bank.

I am doing a big weekend but I am stuck at home when I wanted to go up to Lake Placid to train. Didn’t work out. Poor me. Single Tear…

heh, I’ll actually be racing tomorrow… well let me restate that. I will be riding and jogging tomorrow. The RD would not let me transfer my slot. So tomorrow I am dawning a speedo, Sombraro, and flowered shirt and going for a little swim, spin, and jog.

I put a rear brake on my fixie and flipped my hub to free for my little jaunt. I might wear a Motorcycle helmet depending on how hot it gets.

Planning on going 10:00. We’ll see. There physically for sure. Hopefully my nutrition plan holds up.

Seeya tomorrow!!! I look forward to meandering the course… I’ll have to keep my eye on Kristin on the out and backs. Yeah, she is a power house on the bike. I think she acts as a legal PED for me just knowing that her bike splits aren’t that far off of mine

Nice. I was in Chicago last week with a buddy from Portland who sails competitvely. We rented a J22 and had a blast. I miss sailing. I am just glad I didn’t swim close to shore. I am hearing rumors that a lot of people who did accenture got sick.

Nice “swim, spin, and jog” for a second in the AG, today. Jerk!

Don’t you know you’re supposed to go off with the Elites when you pull that $%*&???

I did like the outfit, though. Did you have a Miller in your hand for the run???

Steve

lets see…
I did my first TT this morning. After that just finished an EZ 60 min run.
Tomorrow, I have a 4 hour bike ride and swim. Monday long run about 2 hour.
Man, it is a beautiful weather to be outside

heh, I had a blast… I blame the RD. Wouldn’t let me transfer my slot, wouldn’t let me change to short course, and wouldn’t let me switch to elite.

I actually had the beer attached to the rear rack of the bike in a little soft cooler underneath the McDonalds bag. My nutrition plan wasn’t very well thought out today. My McDonalds cup sprung a leak, so I tried to reach back for a beer, but couldn’t reach them. I couldn’t even reach my hash browns. I am glad I flipped the hub over to single speed from fixed, some of those donwhills could have been brutal riding fixed, but yeah I was living the high life on the run. Most of the beer spilled on me and the Sombraro wouldn’t stay on very well so tor the first 3 miles I was running with one hand keeping on the Sombraro and the other hand holding my beer. Finally I just let the Sombraro go around my neck and just mildly choke me for the other 3 miles.

That course had to be short BTW. No way in hell was I running 6:10 minute miles with a sombraro, a beer, and a big flowered button up shirt. I was shocked that I averaged 22.3 on a singlespeed. Evidently I have been slacking on my commutes in which I only average 20.

The run was definitely short. I clocked it 5.8 miles from where the parking lot meets the street with both my bike computer & my truck.

I was speaking to Ted after the race, and we both agreed that the bike was short, too.
