If you could olny chose one what would it be?
Sock racers, no contest.
These were like 20 years ahead of their time.

Ingrid Christensen rocking a pair (plus matching socks) in the mid-80s
Any shoe that was made by a 7 year old, being whipped to work faster for 7 grains of rice an hour, is the kinda shoe I love to wear a few times and then throw in the garbage and not donate to a 7 year old who cannot afford to buy shoes because their parents spent all their welfare money on booze because we dont care how long they spend on welfare or how they blow our money… should that have been in pink?

You just described every shoe made by every major brand in the business. Not sure why Nike gets this awful rep when every major brand uses either the same factories, or factories so similar you’d never tell them apart.
Thats why I love shoes SO much! they dont discriminate between whos lives they ruin. Im just playin’ though. I dont buy Nike, dont have a good reason why… just dont. I have Zoot and Newton. Wore addidas or Vans as a kid too. Something about that Vans waffle pattern that I always loved.
sorry, carry on with the Nike topic

Well I am not that old, but I loved the traix TC they made. When I saw they were discontinuing them, I bought 8 pair.
Zoom Jasari (shoe not track spike)
not old school like the Sock Racer but by far the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever owned (a few hundred in the last 5 or so years)
A small hole is starting to wear in the mesh by the left 5th toe…may wear them even with my whole toe sticking out

Air Anodyne and the original Zoom Eldoret.
early 90’s, Air Huarache(not shown in link) otherwise leather Cortez

I still have them … the Nike Kukini!

Air Zoom Citizen

Nike has never made a running shoe!!
I just have to chip in here. Nike Terra T.C, the shoe that just delivered what was needed, lightweight Phylon midsole, blown rubber outsole and a rather flimsy heel cup, but these were great. I must say that if you got a good pair the heel cup was in line, if a bad one then the shoe helped you pronate or supinate…but we loved em.I just bought a pair two weeks ago on ebay, $95 and they were ditched, but cleaned them and wear them now after having the things totally re glued…thank you Nike, you made being a teenage athlete great fun.
Anyone have any old nike america eagle shoes they want to sell?
Other great shoes:
Eagle
Omega (Flame version)
Axis racer
Spiridon gold
Flame spike
Flame tech apike
Mayfly
Zoom
Elite
Internationalist
And lets not forget the mark Allen endorsed Nike Flow and Nike Current
As a general rule, Nikes have usually been rubbish for me as running shoes but I have scored loads of deals on them and because Im cheap have owned many Nikes. Every once in a while I am stoked to find a pair that actually work. The most comfortable shoes I have EVER owned were the 1st generation prestos (though absolutely crap for proper running) I have enjoyed the series 11 and 12 structure I am now onto my third pair of lunarglide 2’s which I have found to be the best training shoe ever. I prefer the Newton stability S for trying to run fast but will race in the lunarglides at IMNZ as I prefer their response when I am absolutely rooted and death marching.

Chalk me up as another one who has had nothing but trouble with Nikes.
I don’t know what it is, but I ran into knee problems with both pairs I have owned (and pretty quickly after I started using them in each case) and I also think they wore down much quicker than other shoes I have owned (possibly related issues?).
No more Nikes for me!
Without a doubt the American Eagles! I also loved the Air Sock ~ circa 1987.
I can’t run in Nikes either. Ripped my feet apart–not wide enough toe box for my small wide feet. I also played soccer and their cleats tore my feet up too. Adidas for soccer and now Saucony and Asics for running.
Nike Bermudas circa 1983.

Favorites----Air Huaraches and Mariahs.
Original Kukini without the velcro were nice.
Air Alphas and the Zoom LWP were pretty good.
