I’m interested in adding a disc wheel to my arsenal of cycling toys. Any suggestions on what to get? Best value, etc?

If you want clincher, I believe your only choices are Renn and HED or a wheel cover.
Tubular you have Zipp, Falcon, Renn, Mavic, Corima, and Hedd.
without a doubt the best value out there for a disk wheel is the Renn disk. I’ve been riding one for 3 years now and just upgraded from the original to the 575. Not only is a good value, it is a very well made disk wheel on top of that. The wheel is straight and an arrow, round and has very smooth bearings.
Got to add my endorsement for Ren, my budy is going to sel his Corima and buy a Renn having seen mine and the trueness of the wheel. An impressive wheel at any price, at Renn’s price a bargain not to be missed.
Absolutely. My Corima has been ok but the trueness and quality of the Renn impressed me. I will be installing one shortly hopefully…

It all depends on how much you want to spend;) Renn is definetely the best bang for the buck but if you feel like getting spendy you have lots of options. Just find a good bike shop and take a look around, there isn’t much to understanding discs. Basically the more you pay the lighter the wheel gets, there’s more to it than that, but that’s the basic jist of it. But as mentioned before a lot depends on if you want a clincher or a sew-up. Clincher you eliminate Zipp but you’ve got HED, Extreme, Renn and others. Sew-up gives you other choices. Search the forum and you’ll find a lot of posts going something like “a disc is a disc, is a disc, is a disc…”
Personally I like my Zipp but it’s probably more for the bling factor than a major performance difference. If I was buying a disc now and someone said, well you can either buy this Zipp here for $XXX or take this Renn which is 100g or so heavier and I’ll hand you back a grand, the Renn would look pretty sweet.

Unless you have money to burn get a Renn. I’ve been riding mine for 3-4 seasons and love it. If I had a ton of money I’d get a Zipp just 'cause they look cool but that’s not exactly a good reason to drop an extra grand.
RENN is the only way to go. Best for your money and the best customer service!!!

exactly the logic i used this winter when i bought my 575. for a 170g penalty no way i could justify the $1k price difference. i also agree with others that frank offers great service as well as a very nice product for a very nice price.
