Hey everyone. So I have the montauk mightyman half this sunday and can’t figure out what to wear. The day should start in the low 50’s and peak out around 60, with mostly sunny skies. I am not concerned about the swim, I will wear a full suit, but i am confused about the bike and the run. Typically i wear my one piece tri suit, but i think i will be pretty chilly, especially after coming out of the water. i have a pair of arm sleeves i could use. Any other suggestions/tips for keeping warm or dealing with this weather?
its a bit windy coming out of fort pond. will be a little cold with the wind as you air dry but wont be for long once the sun comes out. you should be fine with just the tri suit. good luck
Light full finger gloves and, maybe, armwarmers and a skullcap on the bike. Sunny and 50’s is about perfect racing weather IMHO.

Yes you can wear arm warmers under the wetsuit.
Only thing to watch for would be then getting stripped off by the wetsuit sleeves.
I wouldn’t wear armwarmers under the wetsuit they’ll be wet on the bike which defeats their purpose and may come off when you remove wetsuit. For a cold HIM I did, I rolled them up (before the race) and put them on like cuffs around my wrist in T1. Once I was out on the bike and my arms were dry, I unrolled them up my arms. I’d practice this beforehand as it requires one hand off the bars…not for everyone.
I think you need to look at the weather report again - you’re being a bit optomistic. If the air temp is 50 at the gun I will be shocked. Plus it is always wind out there. As for the sun, maybe, but not for sure.
