Anyone know? Can’t seem to figure it out.
I believe it was the Diadora tri shoe, don’t know what it was called.
Oh actually I meant running shoe…my bad.
Thanks though!
I can’t tell either. PM him Napolean.
They look a lot like the Reebok Competition II’s:

I loved this shoe (and raced in it myself), but sadly it has been discontinued and been replaced by the not as comfortable Paris Racer.
Thanks Rapp- Those definitely look like them. I wonder why he was wearing them if they were discontinued?
ps- did a quick search, seems you can still buy them at some places.
I brought him a bunch of shoes to kona. He did not use the Asics I brought, but a pair of Reeboks Competitions from John Duke. He just happened to wear the same size as Normann, and Shazaam, he had his racedrs…2 days before the race!
BTW, his feet are made of iron, as his Diadora cycling shoes were sans insoles, with a very hard surface under those dogs that pushed 26mph for 4 hours and 18 minutes!!!
He is an IronMAN!!!
Thats nuts. Cool story thanks for sharing.
Normann is a beast for sure, I’d like to see him rip it up this weekend!
were they the competitions or the old speed racers? that’s what i thought they were when i saw the telecast. i’ll check the dvd. i’ve still got 2 pair of the speed racers left with some life in them from my old reebok sponsorship…best distance flats i’ve ever found. wish i could find some more. just picked up some paris racers but haen’t had a chance to try 'em out yet.
went over and looked in the gallery at normann’s site. definitely the speed racer.
Well, the story has been revealed, but they only discontinued them very recently, I believe whenever they launch the new 2007 models, so it’d be whenever they launched the Paris Racer. It’s too bad really. The CompII was a great shoe, especially for sockless running. The Paris Racer has a ton of seams and is really not as nice. I’ll wear out the pair I have, and that’s it for them…
