I’m back to LOOK after years of SPD’s. I have A5.1’s on my race bike, and A3.1’s on my trainer/commuter. I have NO issues with them so far. Good stuff IMHO.
great feel… in that you pretty much don’t know they’re there. (Northwave Evolution shoes)
now SPDs, Looks, toe-clips feel like stilts.
oh, and none of that “walking on banana peels” sensation like Speedplay.
Yer not the only one on Look CX-6’s. I’m pretty happy with them, as I have been riding on Look for 15 years now. The new cleats are a bit tighter than I like, but they are extremely stable, strong, never release when I don’t want them to, and I can run in my shoes if I have to. I’ve thought of trying something else but I’ve heard good/bad reports about pretty much every pedal out there, plus I can walk on my marble entryway with the Looks without worrying about falling or scratching the tile.
I’ve always used time. Two big reasons are lateral float and things don’t get sloppy when the cleats wear. Also I like the shoes because there are lines to align your cleats precisely.
I am another vote for Dura Ace SLs. I switched last year after using SPDs previously. I didn’t have many comfort issues before, but the larger platform has improved my comfort level. I definitely recommend them.
