What length valve extenders are best for the Hed disc and H3?

I assume that valve extenders are necessary for both the disc and H3. What length do you recommend?

I didn’t need one for the H3 tubular. It’s easier to pump it up without it (plenty of stem showing). Not much clearance in there. Did you try mounting the tires to see if an extender is necessary?

You need the crack pipe or disk adapter chuck for both the H3 and the HED disk. This has a 90 angle built into a brass adapter.

This almost makes inflation a two person job. With some practice you can do up to 110 by yourself. If you go over 110, definitely need a helper or a third arm.

I am using the clincher version of the H3 with standard tubes and I’ve used the clincher and tubular version of the disk without using any valve extenders otherwise.

I have Hed 3 wheels.

I don’t use extenders… just standard tubes…

but I do use one of these:http://www.hedcycling.com/images/products/silcatrackpump.jpg

on my floor pump.

my co2 backup pump in my seat kit works fine as is

good luck.

i used to think the same … 3 person job.

but I soon figured out that if you pumped with one hand, and used your other hand to hold the silca valve down firmly …

you can get what ever pressure you need with no leakage.

The relief button on my pump comes in handy before pulling off the silca valve… No problems once you get the technique down.

I am a weakling so I can’t get over 110 PSI with my Topeak pump with one arm.
