What kind of hydration do you have on your bike?

ie. front aero, with bottle cage(s) on frame, 2 saddle mounted, etc

i have the carbon visiontech between the aerobars bottle holder.

I did my half ironman with just the one water bottle between the aerobars.

had more than enough water with the 3 handup points

stuffed my gels under the elbow pads just behind the water bottle.

For half-irons on up I use an Aerodrink, plus two big (25 oz.) bottles of Gatorade. For shorter races I ditch the Aerodrink and use a big bottle of water and a big bottle of Gatorade. The bottles are mounted on the frame as I have a little bag on the saddle that holds tubes and tools.

Past few races I’ve used a bottle cage on the down tube & seat tube, with one bottle (so I had somewhere to stuff bottles acquired on course). Also used an aerodrink in the past, but found that I drank way too much when I had it right in my face, I’m somewhat of a compulsive drinker.

I’ve since gotten a tri bike, I’ve yet to figure out how I’m going to set it up for hydration.

Simple - one bottle holder on the down tube and one on the seat tube. It’s worked well for years!

Training…2 bottles behind the seat.
Racing short, aero drink between the bars.
Racing long, 2 bottles behind the seat plus aero drink.

IM_WI 08 was done with a Profile water bottle up front and one regular bottle in the frame. It was more than enough for 10-12 miles at a time between rest stations. I am not pack mule. I saw people out there with cages everywhere hauling water and then dumping it out before each station. Why carry the extra weight?

For my last IM (Wisconsin) I had two cages on the bike.
I started with a cheap bottle in each, one water, one gatoraide endurance.
As I got low at the next aid station I’d toss the bottle and just replace with a new one. Nice and simple.

IMAZ:
Profile up front.
2 bottle cages.

1 bottle cage held concentrated InfinIT
1 bottle cage held aid station water (started the race empty)

Normally the aid station water went into the profile and
was chucked by the end. Used the profile as a “mixing bowl”
