I am currently at a bit of a cross roads in my life. Having built up a lot of bikes in the last while and getting the OK from the family to ride more than I was, I have come to the conclusion after a recent ankle injury that I will not be riding for a while and 8 bikes sitting in the garage is just too much.
I am planning on selling almost all of the bikes except for a few parts and items that I will alway want on a bike and will then look for two bikes that I really really want to have.
So I come to you asking what is the best way to do this. I really do not have a clue what to do. I have sold parts hear and there in the past but what is the best way to sell everything.
Any suggestions would be a huge help. A lot of the stuff is very new and is it in the realm of possibility to figure out what I paid for the new stuff and sell it a .50 on the dollar. Is that realistic?
I hope this does not come across as spam in any way as this is not what the post was intended to do. I just do not know where to start.
Thanks in advance.

Just look at the classifieds on here, and the about to end auctions on ebay, and that should give you ballpark prices for your stuff. Then just post it where you feel comfortable.

Even better is to look at the ended auctions on eBay. Bidding can get crazy on some items in those last few minutes/seconds.

True. I got sniped out of a VERY nice pair of Garneau bib shorts that way, net delay at exactly the wrong time.
IIRC you spent a lot of time and thought into your builds. Maybe someone would appreciate it and want the complete bike? I would try here and roadbikereview.
but I agree that the classifieds here are a good way to go since you will most likely sell to another fine human being on ST…well another STer anyway…and I’m not sure what the rules are in regards to posting there and then somewhere else but I think it’s just don’t start a thread only to use it as a link to an ebay auction.
I would list stuff on ebay as well if you have experience with ebay already.
Craigslist could be good if you live in an area with cyclists that understand bicycle value.
you can do all of these simultaneously for best results
or you could just give them to me and not have to worry about it PM sent
Start on Slowtwitch and end on E-bay.
Some things sell quick here, some things people expect you to give away.
So my advice is to start here and if your gear does not sell for what you want, move it to e-bay.
I am going to list out everything and take pictures but break it up into a few categories. Post the items here, weightweenies and fairwheelbikes first as these are the forums I frequent the most and would like everyone who has helped with all my builds over the years have first crack at the parts.
Ebay will be a last resort.
I went in the garage today and was a bit overwhelmed when I realized how much stuff I actually have. I think the list of parts will be around 100-150 items.
I will just keep enough to build one road bike and I might keep my MTB but that is it. Time to just let it go to a good home with someone who can use it.
