I’ve only seen measurements in terms of nose-of-saddle behind BB (in centimeters). Problem is saddles come in different lengths, so I’m not sure I’ve got it right. Can someone tell me what the Big Slam position is in degrees? If “Forward” is, say, 77-80 degrees, and “Road” is 73/4, what is Big Slam? In between? Or slacker than Road?
Thanks Gary, those are the articles that tweaked my interest in the first place, but as far as I can tell they don’t contain any seat angle information – only BB to nose-of-saddle distance guidelines. The problem is I swap saddles from time to time and the two saddles I use are quite different lengths.

“So what about those numbers? I’m starting with the nose of the seat 6cm behind the center of the bottom bracket for riders 5’4” - 5’6", then as you get taller I go back some more. On 1 rider who is 6’ his b/b is 7.5 ahead of the saddle nose; 8cm back is about as far back as we’ve gone so far. "
I’m really looking for what these numbers translate into in terms of effective seat tube angle. Slacker than 73/74 (Road)? Steeper? Anybody done the math?
