Just curious because there is a alot of talk about riders in smaller frames these days, and that would mean more seat post and more drop (or more spacers). Any thoughts?
I have a M Giant TCR with 26cm of seatpost showing. MY saddle to the top of the handlebar drop is 20cm. I’m just under 6ft. Not sure if it is a lot of drop. Not many of the roadies I ride with are positioned as low as I am when on the hood or in the drops.
Half the triathletes I ride with are higher on their aerobars than I am when on my hoods with bent elbows.
She is 5’7" with long legs and rides a size small frame to get the top tube the correct length. The frame also just happens to be very compact.
I have just under 23cm on my bike. Also a compact frame.
Personally I think it looks bitchin’. I’m no fan of the looks of a horizontal top tube frame, especially if there is only 6cm of seat post. Just looks like the bike is too big for the rider.
Just for fun our mtn. bikes show 22cm and 23cm of post respectively.
