We just got her about 6 weeks ago. We didnt plan on getting a new puppy for about another year but the LA fires changed our minds when we saw so many animals in need and she pretty much stole my wife’s heart over the “Gram” so luck had it that I had a good friend that was in LA doing fire rescue and he was able to grab her on his way back up to SLC. While she has taken up a lot of time she has been a joy to have around thats for sure.
Do you know her breed? Looks like a mix of a few different things…which usually make the best dogs.
Mostly German Shepherd with a little Husky and Pit Bull of all things.
Her older sister is doing a great job showing her the ropes.
What are their names?
I like to see how different the US is from the UK. The attitudes of posters on here to drugs, guns, sex, money, politics all constantly surprises me. In the UK we see things differently from the US - but I suppose we will only be a couple of years behind.
Except for thre guns, poor healthcare access and cost (and ours isnt great)…
I have been on this board for almost 20 years. I started when i was a triathlete competing in long distance races but i stayed for the diversity and support for everything non- triathlon. You need a thick skin at times but i enjoy all the honest opinions and the expertise- experiences that each and every one of you bring. I have posted fairly personal issues and they have been treated with respect. Cant say that about any other forum
I was really surprised at a recent post about people deciding to not speak to family or friends who voted differently - I find this very strange, as with many things I read on the internet. I just don’t come across people with those sort of views in real life.
Shepherds doing shepherd-y things.
CONSTANT VIGILANCE.
Sally ( The puppy ) & Delilah is her big sister.
I don’t know what it is about dogs curled up sleeping like the last photo, but I love those kind of photos.
We’ve been working on him going with me while climbing the hill. He lets me carry him no problem on the way down, too.
But he was exhausted. Took about an hour long nap on me like that. Nice to chill at the outdoor bar, have a seat, with good rye in hand and a dog asleep on you.
not my dogs, still working through thinking about getting another field-bred spaniel… but I have visitation rights with these two, luckily
Came to the board about a year ago seeking tri advice, then found some crazy threads that kept me entertained at work, then found some crazy people that had some great and not so great takes on current affairs and life advice that I appreciated.
Now it feels like fun weekly reading in a strong community. I agree its much less toxic and well thought out than anything on Reddit.
This is kind of like Cheers, except I never go home and I don’t get drunk.
I’ve been hanging out here since sometime in 2002 with a break or two thrown in. You can talk about everything and nothing.
Hell, I made the post about my wreck while I was laying in the ER waiting on CT scan results.
Here are my current nurses while I am recovering.
The use of language is also always a surprise. And to think that if we hadn’t helped them against you they’d be speaking English
