What Happens When TDS Goes Without Treatment

Same story is on several networks. Why would anyone ever go through the trouble to become a legal immigrant? The disadvantages for remaining illegal are being removed one by one.

Answer. You are Canadian and you are enthusiastically watching, “The Handmaid’s Tale” and you are worried it actually might come true.

You have 2 options when people cannot afford health care. You can deny them treatment and carry them out to the street to die or you can treat them. As a society we have decided that we will not deny people emergency care.

When you provide them care you can either leave the payment for that health care to random policy by health care providers, who pass the cost along in some manner to their paying customers or you can do it in an orderly manner through something like Medicaid.

So is your objection that we should be leaving them to die or to paying for it in an orderly manner?

Why are those the only options? What about providing emergency care, then deporting them? If a criminal is injured in the act of committing a crime, we treat the criminal for his medical injuries, but, we do not grant him/her amnesty from his/her crimes.

We have gone over this. Because we don’t really want there to be no undocumented workers. Think of all the ways you personally would combat undocumented workers in the US. Are your top 3 methods being used? Why is that?

And even if you decided to deport them after - you still have to pay for it somehow.

“So is your objection that we should be leaving them to die or to paying for it in an orderly manner?”

That logic has been used by the left to justify everything under the sun costing billions upon billions for taxpayers. Ultimately, these democratically proposed solutions just make the problems worse. The ‘do gooders’ just end up ‘doing worse’. As JSA mentioned, there are plenty of ways to address the problem. It’s just that most of them do not have, as the end game, a dedicated and reliable blue handle puller at the poles.

There are 2 problems with what you wrote. First there are many Republican voters who own businesses that employ undocumented workers knowingly and have no interest in mass deportations. Second you dodged the question of what to do when an undocumented immigrant needs emergency medical treatment in the US. What do you propose to happen in this specific circumstance?

When the GOP held both houses and the presidency, both under Bush and Trump, what measures did they take to end the use of undocumented workers?

That doesn’t mean the GOP is solely responsible, but that they have and the Democrats controlling the party have no interest in actually addressing the issue.

The whole Democrats wanting voters is false, and you know it. Makes a good talking point for ignorant people. But both parties politicians bow to those who want a pool of undocumented workers. So we ignore the best answers.

Now please do tell me what you would like to do under our current immigration system when an illegal immigrant requires care?

Quite simple what his response ought be: As a do worser, he can’t help but do gooder. Whatever he does.

Sorry to butt in there greg. I know, just because the left are the do gooders does not make the right the do worsers, but give it your best shot. maybe there is a right do gooder position that is simply superior to the left’s do gooder.

I think the point is… Both sides are do-nothingers…

Guess how this will be paid for!!!

CA is instituting it’s own individual mandate, fining people who don’t buy insurance and using the fine money to give illegal aliens…

…”free” healthcare.

American citizen - no insurance - pay fine.

In the country illegally - no insurance - free healthcare (paid for by fining Americans who are the same boat healthcare wise as the illegal aliens).

I said this a couple years ago and people called me crazy, this state treats criminals and illegal aliens better than productive citizens - and punishes the productive.

reliable blue handle puller

What is that? Is that a masturbation euphemism?

FIFY

poor American citizen - no insurance -free healthcare.

In the country illegally and poor - no insurance - free healthcare

Basically if you’re poor, there’s no “papers please” or you get dumped back out on the street. So basically you get treated like a human being.

Ha! You left out the best part: “reliable blue handle puller at the poles”.

There are no problems with what I wrote, but there are two problems with what you wrote. First, undocumented workers are employed by thousands of businesses, owned by Republicans AND Democrats. But, nice attempt at hyperbole. Second, I didn’t dodge any questions, I said that there are plenty of ways to address the problem. If you weren’t aware, all emergency rooms in the US are required to render life saving care and that policy has existed since well before illegal aliens started sneaking across the border in the dead of night. The comments about leaving people to die in the street are just more hyperbole to try and discredit anyone that disagrees with California’s free health care for all program as mean spirited killers. Soon, someone will call me racist, I am sure.

The fundamental problem with policies like this are that they encourage even more illegal border crossings and ultimately end up making the problem exponentially worse. Pretty soon, there will be huge caravans of people swarming the border…oh, wait.

Democrats absolutely want voters, I know that. And, thanks for the insult, typical…

Regarding what to do when an illegal requires care, life saving treatment only, just as it has been for decades.

Insult? I said you knew something. Sorry if being given credit for not being dumb is insulting to you.

Sure, both parties want voters. But illegals can’t vote. And despite Trump making shit up, don’t. If he could prove it do you think he would keep it secret?

Now consider public health. Is it better for society to have a large swath of people with no health care? No vaccines, no treatment for illnesses spreading among them, using emergency rooms for every event. They know they won’t be denied at an emergency room so they use the most expensive route for you and I.

We can make arrangements to make that better or we can leave it to chance. We can create a system to pay for it in an orderly fashion and treat people like people or we can try to pretend that our government doesn’t want these people here so we can make use of their labor while treating them like shit and using them as political pawns.

Neither party has the high road here. Trump’s wall won’t work and is just for votes too. Like I said to JSA, think of the methods you would use to efficiently solve this. E-verify, national ID card, police the employers, take your pick. Why do you think those aren’t being used? Both sides give lip service to it, but both make sure to not get to the heart of it because they don’t see it as a problem. It is how they want it to be already.

There are no problems with what I wrote, but there are two problems with what you wrote. First, undocumented workers are employed by thousands of businesses, owned by Republicans AND Democrats.

Yes, then we agree. Thank you for acknowledging this isn’t a “Dem votes” thing.

Second, I didn’t dodge any questions, I said that there are plenty of ways to address the problem.

Yes, but you didn’t actually say what those ways were.

Pretty soon, there will be huge caravans of people swarming the border…oh, wait.

Yes, this is a major problem and a humanitarian crisis. Right now, what is mostly driving this are the conditions in central America, so if we want to slow the flow of migrants we need to tackle the issue at the source.

Old thread, sure… but this is perhaps a literal answer to the thread title.
