I recall him saying he was moving here to the great state of Arizona, but haven’t seen him post in a while.
Yeah, he said he was retiring and moving to AZ…maybe he is in the middle of the relo and busy sitting up a new house. I love his commentary.
Maybe he is just bored with the level of discourse here recently.

Too much TheForge, too little ESM.
Edit: I never noticed Forge is the OP… But even he will have to admit his reasoning and writing skills pale compared to Rob’s.

He changed from ESM to Bull_Winkle. Yea, I’m sure of it. ![]()

Possible. Bull Winkle is such a caricature I find it hard to believe that he is serious about what he posts. But then I’ve thought that about a few others and it turns out they really are that whacky.

I’m both serious and wacky, and also sometimes just fucking with people (like when I argue the pro-life side of the baby killing debate). The key is knowing what when. Also keep in mind that I ALWAYS have a point to convey.

I can hardly wait until your book comes out.

Well yeah, you’re a whack job. I don’t think that was ever in doubt.
And Old Hickory, I don’t think he has a book coming out as much as some researcher has a paper coming out on him.

What’s your point?
HE retired, why would he waste time here if someone wasn’t paying him ![]()

miss his humor as much as intelligent input.
Forge, if you’re going to start a thread about me, you should at least spell-check the title. ![]()
The Arizona move (to Gilbert) will be at the end of February. We were there for ten days in early December, though, arranging to get the house repainted, etc.
Between preparations for the move, practicing the piano and working on my music, training, a little Kauai vacation, and miscellaneous tasks associated with my entering retirement, I’ve been busier than ever. I’ll still try to check in here from time to time, though. Also, we signed up for the IMAZ/Silverman package, so I’ll be following threads in the main forum associated with those races. Speaking of Silverman, does anyone know how a flatlander should prepare for 4300 feet of climbing on the bike?
<<does anyone know how a flatlander should prepare for 4300 feet of climbing on the bike>>
I was living somewhere pretty flat while prepping for a half IM in Monaco that had a whole bunch of climb. I ran a lot of stairs as part of my training. Seemed to help.
Just ride in the northern phoenix and scottsdale Arizona. That elevation training becomes the norm. At least that is what I found. Of course you live closer to the actual course so you can do a few laps on the bee-line.

The Apache Trail through the Superstition Mountains. Still one of the coolest rides I have ever done. Start at Lost Dutchman State Park, ride to Theodore Roosevelt Lake. Return.
