I’m eating some really old tortilla’s and my wife thinks nothing of eggs a month past their expiration date. It needs mold or odor for me to throw something out.

You’re eating some old tortilla’s what?
I’ll eat yogurt past its expiration date.
My old man brought spam along on one of our “survival camping adventure trips” that the men of our family would do a couple times a year. On the second day, when my brother was cooking up the spam for lunch, it was noted by someone that the stuff we were eating expired 8 years earlier. His reply was, “You didn’t seem to mind the stuff that was 9 years past date yesterday for lunch.”
That’s some old spam! Only thing I’m leery about is dried fruit. I had some dried strawberries come back to haunt me, but I was at race weight for a couple days!
Tortillas for sure. As well as bottled sauces, vinegar based stuff.
Dairy a little beyond but not by much.
Meat, no way Jose.

It depends, if it smells good and you cook it to a minimum internal temp of 165F it will be fine.
Eggs. If refridgerated, they’ll keep long past the posted expiration date.
Honey. (the only natural food that won’t spoil - ever)
Canned tuna fish, it last 5 years past its due date and then some.
Just found a can from 2006 and I ate it all up.
Food has expiration dates?
Dairy just needs the smell test. Milk will go a week past expiration depending on how long its been open.
Bottled Water.
Bottled Water.
Ha!
I have and will eat bread past the expiration date upon inspection for mold.
Processed canned foods are usually fine as well. In college, I ate a lot of very expired Spagettios.
Gu. It seems to have a short expiration time, but I figure it’s good for years
bread mold can be invisible. and toxic. Not saying I don’t eat it past the expiration date, but if I see any mold the whole thing is trash. Not like cheese where you can cut the mold off.
A lot of the dates are sell by dates. Means nothing about don’t eat past. I was at sam’s club buying some spinach and a guy asked me how fast I was going to eat the spinach because it ‘expired’ in a day. I pointed out that was the sell by date. He said “well I don’t want to get sick” I wanted to tell him he was an idiot that you’re not gonna get sick from spinach that is a day past the sell by date…but I didn’t ahve time to explain…

Wasn’t bread mold one of the causes of the hallucinations that led to the Salem witch trials? I seem to remember a mold on a particular type of grain - something that began with ‘e.’
Witches aren’t real?
Cliff Bars last forever. Last year finished up the remaining bars from when I was sponsored…Best By date of 12/2001. Ditto Powerbar gels. And Gu, especially if it is in the fridge. Yogurt lasts a long time. Ditto sauces/condiments. Unopened cans of whey based protein powder.
