Anybody remember this site? It’s been a few years but I wonder what ever happened to it… I remember it being a good place to track down results and such.

Triathlonlive.com was a collaboration between Katherine Williams and Dan Empfield. I think it partially morphed into slowtwich.com (in fact, I think you can get to the old site content from here). From what I heard, there was more than one instance when Katherine had difficulty getting press accreditation at major ITU events (ie. from what I heard…and this may have nothing to do with the truth…she was not on Les McDonald’s most favoured list). I am unsure if this would have anything to do with the service slowly tapering off. It was a great service in its time.

You know I was going to mention that it looked a lot like Slowtwitch… Interesting note about ITU being hard to get press accreditation. Even if it’s just rumors, i’m sure it’s not far from the truth.

The great thing about Katherine’s forum that was also part of triathlonlive.com, was that many industry players participated under their own names. We get a bit of that here on Slowtwitch, but it’s a different game entirely when you would get input and direct feedback from Scott Tinely, Greg Welch, Bob Babbit Murphy Reinschriber and many others.
