I notice the banner ads in the LR have had some John McCain stuff. Where’s Obama? Is he intimidated by our awesome physicality and obvious mental abilities? Enquiring minds want to know.

I asked him, but he would not give me any details on why he would not, he just said he wanted to see a change in the LR behavior
.
He’s here occasionally, incognito. If you look closely at the Ann Coulter banner, you’ll note the adams apple and hands appear smaller in some frames - that’s him behind the blonde wig and makeup.
Envious of our lung capacity. ![]()
I recently read that he plays basketball with his Secret Service agents while waiting for returns and rallies. Perhaps he does not know about this site?
You should email him, and let him know you would like to see him here. ![]()
I smoked for 15 years before quitting and taking up a healthier lifestyle. Having a recovering nicotine addict in the White House will make the tobacco companies shitting in their pants!
Haha!! Very funny! Actually, if you really listen to him, he gives an overkill of details. The health care discussion on the Dem debate on MSNBC the other night went on so long, and was so detailed, that it almost put me, a policy wonk, to sleep!!
That photo is classic. I’ve never smoked anything, ever, in my life and have never even put a cigarette in my mouth. I still scratch my head over folks who are obviously intelligent, and know the risks associated with something so bad as smoking, yet either take up the activity or continue it long after it becomes plain that it’s contributing to a slow death for them.
I agree also that policy positions are now beginning to come forth from the candidates. My guess is the media is going to force more and more substance out of all of them as we move through the year and up into November. It seems like it’d be a good thing, too.

It’s funny listening to them nit-picking at the details of their opponent’s theoretical health care plan that will never come to fruition. Kinda like debating whether Bigfoot or the Yetti has a longer lifespan, only less entertaining.

That will certainly spell doom for McCain, particularly if they get past how great the surge in Iraq is working.
I suppose he could talk about his position on illegal immigration, how he opposes tax cuts and the economy but my guess is he will be wishing for the days he could just spend all his time reminding people that he was once a prisoner of war.

It practically used to be a requirement that you were fat, drunk, smoking or had facial hair to be president.
“Bill Clinton 1993- cigar”
We know he had one but did he ever smoke it? We know the alternative uses… ![]()
“We know he had one but did he ever smoke it? We know the alternative uses… :)”
as I recall he didnt inhale.
And it doesn’t count since the cigar wasn’t lit.
(It wasn’t lit, was it? God I hope not ![]()
“Hussein” he has anything against triathletes?
Clever.
Monk is the smartest man I know from the LR and whom I’ve actually met, way back in '04.

My first reaction to seeing a smoker is “loser.”
