What do you want to achieve by the end of summer?

summer comes and goes. have to take advantage of it while it’s here! so, what are some things you want to accomplish this summer? (athletic and otherwise)

I want to own a house and be able to run (peroneal tendonitis sucks!). I also want to be studying for my GRE’s so that I can get into physical therapy school by Fall 2006.

here goes :slight_smile: loose the last pounds (so, eat better and be more healthy) ride 75 or a 100 mile ride break 31 minutes in the time trial swim more religiously continue to ride over 100 miles a week (aiming for 150) go outdoors all the time despite the heat grow and share my vegetables keep my car clean

Get my halo off and be able to run a little.

to prepare my base before I start my ATP, ride 200-300 miles a week consistantly

tri related: run without pain, swim comfortably

have my TT position dialed, begin a few ME workouts

have my 2006 ATP completed (power based, TT racing) up through Valley of the Sun in Feb, which is an A race, other A races are SCNCA/CA state TT, and nationals

work on my USCF coaching certification, why not?

have my new Javelin Barolo TT bike built and Javelin Arcole tri bike completed, www.javbike.com

have a major application completed and delivered (work/software)

vacation, Kauai

lose 15 pounds and also eat more healthy substances. 17 minute open water swim for 1500 meters also.

My goal is sub 2:25 for an oly.

Goal 1 Finish Ironman Canada (first IM) with a smile

Goal 2 (stretch) finish IMC with a smile and a Kona slot (you gotta have dreams)

Goal 3 enjoy a vacation in France

  1. Finally get my Tri bike “finished.” (Still want brakes, a carbon seatpost, and new chainrings.)

  2. Mooch a cheap road bike off of somebody.

  3. Discover the “ultimate” pick-up line.

Get a actual race in, it’s been a bad year for me.

Lose that last 5 pounds.

Get an ultramarathon in (50 miler)

-continue to build on the relationship with my new gf…she’s hot

-get my race run pace back to sub 7 minute

-announce a new spring duathlon in sw michigan for 2006

-drop the last 10 lbs.

  1. Break the darn 4:30 barrier at Musselman half-IM in a few weeks

  2. Have awesome vacation in Montreal and Quebec City with wife after Musselman

  3. Enjoy sprint and Oly distance races in August
    .

Go 5 hours at the Soma 1/2 (for me this is the end of summer. Yes I try to stretch it out)

That’s about it. I guess I better focus on it. I’m good with all of the other disarray in my life so I don’t feel a need to put things in order.

Tri related:

  1. Finish the Steelhead Tri 1/2 in Aug. comfortably well.

  2. Train more in the heat and wind for Kona.

  3. lose 10 more lbs.

  4. get my nutrition down to a science!!!

  5. Have fun and not get burned out from my training before October.

By the end of the summer, I want to…

  • be injury free.
  • have better swim technique.
  • be dating this gal Sarah from my gym.
  • Finish the SOS under 6 hrs.
  • Finish the NYC Marathon under 3:10.

The Other TD

-Pull off at least two more Crit wins

-Get my Cat 3 license

-Go 4:45 in the El Tour de Tucson

-Paint the inside of my house (this may have to wait until after El Tour)

Maybe new windows on my house.

  • Break 60 min in a 40k TT

  • Complete my first 1/2 IM and Marathon

  • Get the balls to sign up for IM Madison

  • Get a job OR get into a Masters program that pays me
