Anyone take up that idea to make a quilt out of race T-shirts?
My garage wall is covered with them. I even write times on the bibs and frame medals with the bibs in which I had won something.
My one and only DNF has the number slashed in red with “DNF” on it to remind me that I can’t ever do that again (just kidding). It is where I can see it first so I can get angry and train harder (whenever that can be).
A friend of ours who’s a quilter did that. She made a quilt for each of us. She didn’t just use race shirts . She used all kinds of stuff like the kid’s baby blanket, soccer jerseys, etc. They turned out great.
Viking funeral.
Recently donated a bale of T-Shirts to charity. Some of them were pretty grim anyway and unlikely to be worn. Keep everything from the memorable ones, i.e. First HIM/IM/Marathon. Other than those, race numbers/swim caps generally binned.
I wish I would have written the date/race/distance on the back of all of them… would have provided an interesting history…<<
That’s what I do. Also good to compare races year to year.

My fiance and I were given a quilt of race T-shirts for Christmas. It’s a great way to use up shirts.
Our Bike store will have a changeroom curtain made from race shirts - conversation piece and way to show off different races.
Happy New Year!
Of a downword spiral? Huh?
Don’t know about you but my times have only improved.
Aren’t you special, ![]()
My running pace has slowed about :10 per year, I’m guessing since I haven’t been racing as much as I used to.
