What did you do for your bachelor(ette) party

I’ve been to everything from a placid one afternoon affair (it was nice I guess but boring) to a red bull and cocaine fueled Vegas trip (the bachelor knew I didn’t do drugs and so “asked” me to run an “errand” and when I got back all the coke was gone. Friendship is about the little things).

Nobu

that was it
.

mine was a weekend in vegas. it was okay. at that time we were all spread around the country so it was easy to meet there.

When we all lived in the same area we had several bachelor parties rent a large cabin in south lake tahoe for a long weekend, that was a lot more fun. lots of options of things to do there, both during the day and night.

Hmmm… maybe I have more friends than I thought.

I studied for finals. I got married in December while I was in my last year of college.

My brother-in-law offered to take us out, but I was fighting off sickness and planned (and did) to sing to my wife during the ceremony - so I didn’t want to do anything to jeopardize that. And, I’m really not much of a party person anyway.

We went paint balling for mine.

A friend is wants to go fishing for his.

I’ve been to a couple involving strippers (public and private) and don’t really have any desire to do that again.

I’d just recently moved countries so no make friends here and not feasible to expect my mates from AUS to fly across.

Older sister took me to Whistler and we rode mountain bikes for a few days in the park. Ate at expensive restaurants. Drank a lot.

Fractured both my wrists though, fell two meters off a bridge.

I guess it evens out.

Note: wedding was a week later. Didn’t get X-ray until after wedding as I didn’t want a cast on wedding day. Just scotch and gritted teeth.

Camping weekend with just my wedding party. It rained. A lot.

Still enjoyed it though.

Interesting how most of these are weekend vacations/trips not really parties. Mine was a party at the Best Man’s college apartment.

The first rule of bachelor(ette) parties . . .

I never had one… didn’t see the point given that i had multiple groups of friends with varying interests. If I was to ever do one though, I would go to a Dude Ranch (City Slickers style).

I’d been to a few and from those experiences I realized that I had no interest in having one.

Night before the wedding I hung out with my BIL, smoked some weed and watched TV.

Went out with family and friends. Got drunk. Went back to my brother’s house. My other brother thought it would be fun to get me to do more shots. Puked. Felt like hell. Wished I was anywhere but there.

Bachelor parties are stupid. You can do all the things after you are married that you can do before.

And as anyone with half a brain knows, I did it two weeks before the wedding.

I honestly cannot remember if I had one or not, so I either blacked out and lost all recollection, or it was just some beers with friends. Beers with friends was such a common experience, it probably just didnt stick out…

One I do remember quite well was Greg Welche’s. He rented a double decker bus and filled it with a bunch of pro/AG triathletes. It began its rounds, hitting different bars(some with naked women even!). He was dressed in the Elvis white bell bottom suit. We were at a bar that had real Harley motorcycles hanging from the ceiling. Someone lifted him up, he grabbed a wheel, then scrambled up onto the seat. There was a crowd underneath egging him on, while the management heads were exploding. Apparently it was not sunk into the ceiling that well, and Greg was on top kicking down the starter pedal. It would have been a nightmare for that bike to have fallen out, on top of all the group. We got him down, surrounded him so they couldnt get him, and out the back door to the bus, squealing out of the parking lot…that was one of about 7 or 8 stops that night, it got blurry…

Golf + Some Bar Hopping + Camping Weekend

Was fun - nothing too intense
.

It involved riding a mechanical bull.

Which I am apparently quite good at compared to my friends.

I have 4h to thank for that.

Our wedding was two states over, and mostly family there, with just a couple of friends each.

The uncles and guy friends and I went to one of the two bars in town at 8 or 9pm the night before the wedding, and they all grabbed some beers, I grabbed a Mountain Dew, and we had a kickass shuffleboard tournament.

The aunts and my wife’s friends took her to the other bar in town, and did pretty much the same thing.

After awhile they ended up coming over and we all danced and played shuffleboard together until we packed into our gender exclusive pickups, and headed back to the cabin at 1am.

It was as low key, no pressure, and relaxed as could be, with tons of awesome memories made.

Bachelor parties are stupid.

Yup, that’s why I used mine as an excuse to do something that I enjoy. Camping/fishing.

mine: I think we went tubing and then out on 6th street in Austin. Was fun, nothing crazy.

BILs: I planned a cool night out at some bars in town. The dumbasses were so lame and the only thing they wanted to do was go to a strip club. So we did and they just zoned out staring at the boobs. It was lame. I left the hotel later that night and went home to my wife.

Best one: Weekend in CO fly-fishing, Rockies baseball game and Denver Brewery-Hopping.

First one: paint ball and beers. Was fun.

All in all they’re as bad as NYE- some ppl think you have to go crazy. I’m more of a fan of treating it like a fun weekend with some buddies.

I really enjoyed mine, and the guys still talk about what a blast it was, some good stories from the trip too (which I won’t share here). We went to Halifax, stayed downtown, went golfing at an awesome links course about 20 minutes away, did some bar hopping. Really fun town, the people were great and even when we were 12 hours into drinking and things were getting hazy we never ran into issues with anyone.

Myrtle Beach was fun, a few buddies had theirs there. Kind of a great setup for a bachelor party, especially if people want to get in a round of golf.
