What did I just see?! American Chopper + HED3

I was just flipping back to American Chopper ('twas a commercial break) and they showed a promo for the next show or maybe it was just American Chopper in general. Anyway, they had Paul Sr. screwing around with a HED3 wheel!

Was this episode on yet? Are they making a bicycle?! How sweet would that be?!

It was the comercial for the premiere next week.

Episode 35: Lance Armstrong Bike 1
The guys visit Nike headquarters in search of inspiration for their next project, a chopper tribute to six-time Tour de France champion and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong and his Livestrong Foundation. But when fabrication begins, the shop and Junior’s ambitious designs suffer a setback when Rick get his hand caught in a drill press, sustaining a serious injury.
premiere: Sept. 27, 2004

Episode 36: Lance Armstrong Bike 2
The Tour de France is in its final stages as work continues on Lance Armstrong’s Livestrong bike. With their deadline looming, the team struggles to put the finishing touches on the exhaust system in time to get the chopper to Justin and Nub Grafix for paint. But when the bike returns, engine problems linger, putting the pressure on Junior to fix the mystery problem before OCC presents the gift to Lance on The Tonight Show.
premiere: Oct. 4, 2004

If anyone is intersted we (my daughter and I) stared prefab on OUR chopper bike “St. Vincent de HoseClamp”

with a triple chainring, Shimano group, and stem shifters.

Brace yourself

OCC is coming out with it’s own cologne.

No joke.

what’s it smell like, grease or sweat?

I saw the bike and it looks really really bad. It is hard to tell what is going on there with the design.

Pics of the chopper are here. It is a bit ugly, but the shape of the tank is pretty cool.

Maybe a little too much yellow, but still a cool bike.

You got some serious leg muscles there, brother!

It is kind of hard to see what’s going on with that bike. Too yellow for sure, but I love the gas tank.

When a friend told me he saw the bike on The Tonight Show the first thing I asked was if it had Hed3 wheels. It’ll be interesting to watch the show and see why they chose to go with spoked wheels. At any rate I think the spoked wheels look pretty cool and are probably easier for John Q Public to indentify with a bicycle.

It smells like Paul Sr.'s size 12’s.

Stale PBR, maybe??? Oh, that’s right, they don’t drink.

Didja ever notice that all LBS’s and Pep Boys smell the same, like tires???

That airport smell you recognize is equal parts coffee (with cream and sugar) and kerosene.
