Richardson Bike Mart at least has Zipps. If you’ve never been, it’s worth going to. One of the most impressive shops you’ll find. Not exactly in Plano, but it borders it. http://bikemart.com/ is the site. It has multiple locations, but you want the Richardson one.
Agree with the post regarding Richardson Bikemart. The main store at Coit and Campbell is worth the trip. In Plano itself is Plano Cycling & Fitness. Their website is http://planocycling.com/ . They do carry ZIPP.
Is that the store that has a lot of Lance Armstrong stuff? (his yellow jerseys included?)
I was in a store in Plano a few years back wher I found some stuff you don’t find in the smaller stores(including Hed wheels) but I can not remember the name. Is Richardsons that store?
Any other store in the Austin area where I could find hard to find stuff (like track cycling components).
Thanks!
Sergio
I can’t recall if RBM has any LA stuff. I’m in Houston (grew up in the Dallas area). The RBM store is HUGE. You’d remember if you were there. It’s kind of like the Wal-Mart of bike stores (meaning size, not quality).
Best bets for track gear would be Houston and Dallas due to the fact we both have tracks.
If you are driving up from Mexico, I guess Austin is on the way. Stop at Mellow Johnnys or something. Also check San Antonio. I haven’t been myself, but I’ve heard great things about Brittons Bike Shop there.
Take back what I said about Britton’s. It may have some nice stuff, but I guess the owner isn’t a very cool dude. Scheduled a training ride using the same course as the Texas state TT (actually the team time trial day) and it wasn’t a pleasant mix of slow and very fast riders. The guy knew in advance and could’nt wait for the event to finish.

Thats the place. The owners of the Richardson Bikemart are the same people who were helpful in getting Lance started up when he was a youngster and growing up in Plano. Its one of the better bike stores in the country.
I disagree with the Wal-Mart comment. One thing I always loved about RBM was the amount of high-end gear they always had in stock. I remember them having full racks of Litespeeds for instance. I’ve never been to another bike store with the breadth of selection. RBM has lots of track stuff as well, particularly the Frisco location as it is right around the corner from the Velodrome.
… and yes they do have a bunch of LA stuff.

Be careful what you read - said “Walmart” in terms of size, not quality. The place is freaking huge and a bike lover’s paradise. It is one of the best stores I’ve been in.
Thanks to all. I was not able to go that far but I was able to secure most things I needed in San Antonio and Austin.
Best wishes,
Sergio
