So I am hoping to get a RETUL fitting sometime next month in the hopes of using this fitting to pick out my first true tri-bike. I realize stack and reach are the two measurements that are most important but are those really the only two measurements one looks at when you take your fitting results and start comparing bike geometry measurements? I would imagine it is nearly impossible to find a bike that has the exact stack/reach measurements you need…so if you have to give a little on one of those measurements, which is the most important to match up to with the bike? I would assume stack as I would think reach is more adjustable…but I really don’t know. Basically I’m just curious what I will do with the measurements I get from the fitting. I realize they give you a list of potential bikes, but if one of the bikes I’m interested in is not on the list, I want to know what measurements I should be looking at comparing to when I go to the bike manufacturers page and look up the bike geometry.
We had a discussion about translating fit measurements to a bike last week

.
Actually you need to look at the positon of your contact points being armpad stack, armpad reach and saddle height. And off course the seat tube angle.
The frame stack and reach are just a part of the fit process and an indication if and if yes with what parts like the aerobar can get you to those contact points.
There are aerobars with higher, lower or adjustable armpad stack to the basebar. So among others the use a aerobar x on frame y need to get you to your contact points.
Good luck on your fit
