What Big Slam fitting looks like for me

Hi all

Showing the outcome of my modified Big Slam/ System One fitting from Dave Bunce last Summer. In the photo I am actually leaning into a 90 degree turn so it is a bit off.

I want to point out that this position has worked very well for me and is very comfortable, allowing me to ride for extended periods of time in the saddle at around 85 RPM

The photo on the left is a Big Slam example that J Cobb put into his research article, which I have made available here: http://www.timetrial.org/slam.htm

Gary,

My wife is just as fast on her road bike slammed as her P2K steep. Our regular training route is a 32 km loop that we’ve tested well over a hundred times. She can run just as well off either bike. I’ve tried the slam, admittedly not fitted by Dave Bunce, but can’t run worth a sh*t off it.

I understand you used to do dualthlon. What is your impression of this position if you had to run?

I have not ran off of it, but I know that Mike Plumb can probably better answer this as he has likely worked with athletes that Dave had fit.

I was not a fast runner anyway, I think my best 5k Du spit was like a 21 min, but then that was only after 4 mos of training for running

Maybe I will pick it up next year, right now I am focused on the state TT jersey for this year or '05

That Abici is a pretty sweet looking bike.hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Da bum
.

Yes, Abici makes some nice TT bikes, priced very well, and built with aerodynamics in mind (integrated cables, full seat mast, cutout, bladed chainstays)

You see lots of them in the TT’s down here (SoCal), probably becuase they are a local company.
