weekend is over for Aussies basically, sorry I didn’t get this up earlier.
Working overnight ICU then vegging on the couch with the fam, football begins at 0900.
Please tell me your thread title was intentional because it’s awesome.
Gonna go watch Harry Potter
Maybe we’ll get a “Weekend plans 6/7”
my plans:
ran this AM, was on xc bus at 7:30, did a bit of grading on ride, coached at Festival of Champions (7 HS xc races, fun day), graded a bit on the way back, grocery shopped, worked for a bit, chaperoned the homecoming dance for about an hour before fatigue got the better of me.
The kids clean up alright.
Tomorrow I will jog, swim, lift, do housework, group therapy call, and work. And read a bit. Most of what I need to do is calc which I love ![]()
belated birthday party for wimsey jr today. Paintball; some welts/tears for some participants, but they all survived. One attendee summed up the vibe when he said through sniffles, “I liked shooting everyone else, but I didn’t like getting shot!” Life lesson in there somewhere, kid.
Straight from paintball to hockey for some more refereed youth violence.
Currently on the sofa munching vegetables to try to counteract the pizza and birthday cake from earlier. I’m not sure it’s working.
Soccer and hockey for the boy tomorrow. Running and stretching and grocery shopping and housework and spoiling the dog for me. And then probably some fretful late night laptop time to get ahead of the workweek. And maybe get some bookclub reading done in there somewhere.
Went hunting Friday afternoon/evening. Headed up to Milwaukee to go on a campus discovery day at Marquette for my junior in HS.
There was a weekend?
Saturday, I volunteered at a ninja comp from 8am-7pm. Got in 17,000 steps running back and forth on a 40m course. I love the vibe - everyone is super chill/supportive. 10 squeaked into the last qualifying spot for the next stage (goal is Westerns/Nationals - both unlikely, but #goals).
Sunday was out of town ball. Off at 6am, home at 8pm. Best part was visiting with family - love that we have people all over to hang with. 10 had his buddy unexpectedly show up - TG I was not on the hook for entertaining him all day. 14 has been struggling a bit with hitting, but he found his mojo the second game and wound up scoring the winning walk-off run.
Friday: stayed up late reading, made a pot of minestrone soup
Saturday: got up, finished the book I was reading. Later, I went to check out a new record store and bought a couple of albums, then went to the bookstore to pick up a book, practice piano
Sunday: went to the swim workout, watched the Chiefs beat the Raiders, practice piano
Went to the last D1 racing of the season. The standard is crazy high this year.
I want to print this on a sweatshirt that I can wear to every wimsey jr event for the next however many years.
