What are your weekend plans? April 4/5/6

What are your weekend plans?

I assume some of you have Mon off because it’s Easter Monday?

today is my 39th bday and my parents and I are meeting my cousin and her partner for sushi at a place that’s about halfway for both of us travel-wise.

Weekend plans are kind of weather-dependent but likely staying in and hanging out.

No extra days off here.

Meeting friends at Marengo Cave for some adventuring on Saturday, then off to exotic Peru (Indiana) for Easter with the in-laws.

thanks!

Never heard of an Easter Monday either.

And 4-day weekend? Retirement* feels like everything’s a long(ish) weekend.
(*retired - as in left the corporate world. Kept the university gig).

Weekend activities - I attended my first ever fashion show event this weekend (today). Wow, a very cool experience. The creativity, the joy, the confidence, and the anxiety, from models and designers was palpable. It’s a whole new world to see up close.

Going to visit some in-laws. But not all the in-laws all at once. Which for me, at this point in time - that’s a good thing.

They’re all good people, and the full group of this can be fun. But right now, I am grateful that it will be a little quieter this weekend.

I’m hoping to have a beer on the deck of the ferry this evening. Get a quiet run in tomorrow sometime. Distract my son so my wife gets an hour or two to talk with her dad or her mom. Maybe a windy beach walk with the wife and kid and dog. Some late night reading. And fingers crossed, we avoid the ticks.

Happy birthday Dr. TC.

Chill weekend since I was traveling all last week. Read, practice piano, work out, farmers’ market, just got a Costco delivery, watch some TV, massage on Sunday. Maybe a little work since I’m way behind on a couple of projects. Supposed to rain on Sunday.

Happy birthday to the Good Doctah!! Hope you have one helluva weekend!

This weekend happens to be honey and my anniversary - 12 years happy (not married)! So went to dinner tonight at a new place (to us) that she had found and friends recommended. It was… Ok - good people and the apps were great with killer drinks, but they screwed up both of our steaks. Oh, well.

Had a great acoustic guitarist playing, and he threw out some Turnpike Troubadours - was surprised we knew what he was playing!

Also got a good little gravel ride in. Was overdressed…

Tomorrow… tomorrow is busy: probably last day of skiing at Cannon, but the pond skim is tomorrow so gots ta go! And honey made the bar staff some margherita pudding shots (plus some butterscotch ones for us!…), so that should be an interesting start to the day…

Then the local brewery is having their birthday party in the afternoon with two different bands. Thankfully, the ski house is within walking distance! Should have a fair amount of friends coming, so that will be a full, fun day!

Rain from there, and the mountain will probably be done, so Sunday we’ll probably go to breakfast and then just mostly relax - April will be stupid for me work-wise…

Also hope to get aome of the best ice cream in the world!!

thank you and thanks @ironclm for the bday wishes! Had a wonderful dinner out last night. I always forget how fun and funny my cousin is. I don’t see her nearly enough.

Happy anniversary to you and I hope you do get some of that best ice cream!

Besides all the usual workouts. Worked OT Friday, did meal prep and yard work Saturday, changed the front pads and rotors on the wife’s Camaro today. Dad came over and we got to spend great quality time working on a vehicle.

did you secure some ice cream?

my dad had today off. We went to see the Ben Franklin movie. It was ok. Mildly interesting. I should have anticipated there would be a complete lack of eye candy.

We stopped at one store in search of half price easter candy but they didn’t have any that appealed to me.

Ohhh, yes!!

from that menu I’d have asked to sample the blueberry juniper and gone from there - but I likely would’ve gone with a scoop of sour cherry mahlab and a scoop of the chocolate. If the blueberry juniper were good I’d do that instead of the chocolate. Cherry scoop and mango passionfruit scoop would be a good combo too.
