What are we listening to tonight?

Track 1 is amazing.

Love that project.

House to myself so it’s Queens of the Salt Mines playing in all rooms.

Somehow I’ve never seen this.

TIL that this album was at least partially recorded 15 minutes from my house in Gladwyne, PA.

Some cheerful Italian music

You saw he just announced a tour? (Union Transfer Sep 20)

I did. Definitely planning on being there for that one. I pretty much like anything Ben Harper does, but I always prefer the Innocent Criminals stuff. It’s been a minute since I’ve seen them live, but back in the day they were my favorite rhythm section this side of the Allman Brothers Band.

I was psyched when I saw the Union Transfer date.. then realized I’ll be in Europe on vacation starting the previous day.

BHIC’s 2005 show at the former Electric Factory is to this day one of my most memorable shows ever.. close to 3 hours and still felt like it ended too soon.

I dare you to hate this.

I definitely do not hate this!

Wife says it reminds her of her anxiety dreams.

@RandMart should design a band flyer.

I’ll put it on the board, but it will be down the list a bit

Thanks for thinking of me

BTW: I reused the “Sparkplug Groundhog” on Monday

This popped up on my feed this afternoon

And I wanted to listen to more Andy Summers, so I put this on (Bluetooth connect to the turntable speakers)

My mom would’ve love this - she always liked Bossanova/“Cocktail Music”

She was a Jazz-y girl, (allegedly) going to clubs in St Louis with her friends in the '58-60 time frame. She introduced me to Miles, Coltrane, Monk, and Brubeck

Antidote for this winter cold bullshit.

I’ve started a new project where I listen to a concert on or around the date it happened. I’m keeping a spreadsheet and I want to eventually have a show for every day of the year. So far I’ve got the Grateful Dead 2/3/78 and 2/5/78 and Pearl Jam 2/8/03.

Is there any other time frame?

I’m increasingly convinced that this is the greatest jazz album of its time, second only, maybe, to KOB. I play it in the ICU after midnight when all the admin types have slithered back to their holes.

It’s not technically a Miles album, but it’s definitely a Miles album, Mom would approve.
