We've got an auction to announce

This from my friend Scott Zagarino of Athletes for a Cure (Prostate Cancer Foundation).

Thanks to our mutual sponsor Accelerade, the New York City Triathlon has agreed to allow Athletes for a Cure to auction 30 entries into this year’s sold out event. All proceeds go to prostate cancer research through the Prostate Cancer Foundation athletesforacure.org. The auction launches on our site Friday the 8th @ 9am PDT.

In 2007, more than 218,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, and more than 27,000 men will die from the disease. One new case occurs every 2.5 minutes and a man dies from prostate cancer every 19 minutes.

Founded in 1993, the PCF has raised more than $288 million and provided funding to more than 1,400 researchers at 100 institutions worldwide. The PCF has been a pioneer in the grant making process, simplifying paperwork for grantees, leaving more time for researchers to conduct needed scientific research. The PCF also advocates for greater awareness of prostate cancer and more governmental resources, resulting in a 20-fold increase in government funding for prostate cancer.

Step up, log on, and become a part of the solution. Thank you.
