Wetsuit winter care

This is my first winter with my wetsuit…do you do anything special with yours? (Besides the recommended store flat, out of sun, etc) Do you keep in them in a closet? In a storage bin? Do you do anything besides wash it at the end of the year? Any seecret tricks? Thanks…

I keep mine in a fishtank full of water. And my secret is the only thing that stays in the closet.

The manfacturer suggests you hang your wetsuit on a good wooden hanger in a temperature controled environment. If you can lay it flat that would be the best, but do not fold it up.

never store folded.

mine are always stored on hangars.

that said…use super-sized shoulder affairs.

my closets don’t get much direct sun long as i close the doors.

After a full season the suit should be hung on a wetsuit hanger, which is normally a large, wide hanger of some non-absorbent material. Some wetsuit manufacturers such as Blue 70 and 2XU are supplying their suits with them.

Before storing the suit open the zipper and giveit a cold, fresh water rinse. Use the hanger to let it drip dry over a drain. Turn the suit inside out, with the smooth skin facing inward and the nylon textile side facing outward. The nylon is harder to damage than the smoothskin surface, that is why storing it inside out is a good idea.

Hang the suit out of contact with other garments and away from sources of direct heat and sunlight. That’s it!
