I have a Desoto T1, QR Superfull, Orca P-Flex and just bought a Aquaman Metal Cell but don’t have it yet.

In order:

T1: Fastest, most comfortable. Not the warmest.
Superfull: Best one piece I’ve tried so far- flexible, comfrotable, precise fit.
Orca P-Flex: Warmest suit I’ve tried. Fast. Good fit. Very nice.

2003 Ironman VO2 Stealth suit I like it pretty well. It’s comfortable, doesn’t seem too restrictive, and keeps me plenty warm. It was tight in the chest at first, but has relaxed to the point where it’s comfy now.

It wasn’t my first choice, though. I wanted the QR Superfull, but had a problem. I’m 5’8", 160, with a 42 inch chest and a 32 inch waist. The QR’s didn’t have one that fit me properly.

I took the advice of the wise men and women on this board and bought the one that fit. If you’re looking to buy, read Dan’s excellent article on wetsuits, then buy the one that fits you best. This is one purchase you should definitely do in person.

PFlex. Love it. VERY warm.

orca speedsuit. im poor.

2000 IM vo2 stealth. warm comfy realtively easy to shed for a full suit.

I have/had a 2003 QR Superfull. It was a great suit, one of the best I ever owned until my kids put about a 12 inch cut right down the leg with their scootier handle. No way to fix it, I think my life past before my eye when I saw what happen. So now I’m back looking for a new suit again. Before thing went bad the suit was warm, flexible and easy to get in and out of. No complaints

Desoto T1.

I’m the opposite of most triathletes - short and wide (at least for last year when I bought the suit). The two-piece allowed for much easier fitting in my opinion. And bless Desoto. I purchased directly from them. The sales person and I had different opinions on sizing, so they sent me two suits to try. Of course the size they recommended turned out to be correct.

This is my first and only suit so I have no basis for comparison. I will say that their advertising is correct, you can get the suit off in 10 seconds. The other comment is that when I tried it out in the pool, it felt like cheating. I would suppose that this is generally true for most suits.

My first was a QR full years ago and I bought it expecting/hoping to lose weight. Never happened so it was a bit tight. Bugger. Never swam fast in it but that was my fault.

I now have an Ironman Stealth '03 and love it. comfy, fast, no wetsuit hickey, and I got it really cheap from their factory shop in Auckland. Even came with a free IM Wetsuits running cap, and a multi purpose full wetsuit as well! Awesome.

Some sort of a QR. I’d have to go and have a look.

It’s so strange that I know every little tiny detail with my bikes but whenever anybody asks about swim or running gear I can only answer “I dunno” and have to run off and check it. There was a post awhile ago asking what shoes you race in and all I could say was Nike. Had to go read the model the number before replying to the post.

2003 QR Ultra Full. I love it, it is very comfortable. I am in Northwest Florida, so anything heavier would be too hot.

Just used my deSoto T1 top/T1-tres bottom yesterday in the ocean for the first time. (I had only used it in the pool before). Water was supposed to be about 60 degrees. I was warm. Removal, using alternate method number 3, was no problem. (See last weeks posts.)

I have an Orca speedsuit as well. I don’t really see how you could make a suit any better. I keep looking for a reason to change, but I haven’t found one yet.

ProMotion Sleeveless. I look very cool in it.

I have a circa 1990 “sleeveless” - its got short little lycra sleeves - Aleeda. Swam in it 12-13 years ago - put it away for 5-6 years or so - swam in it for one of the Alcatraz races - put it away for another 5-6 years and broke it out again last year. Still fits! Though the rubber is getting a little stiff. Can still swim faster than most triathletes in it yet need to learn to bike/run better (and its definitely faster than no wetsuit)…am planning on trading it in for a De Soto T1/tres this year though doubt it will be much faster…I was a little cold swimming in Santa Cruz and my poor Aleeda is getting a few too many holes…

Xterra Vector Pro- Love IT!!!

Aquaman Bionik sleeveless. I love this suit. Thinking about getting a full one

Ironman full suit. I’ve finally lost enough weight to wear this one. I’m going to do some more trials as soon as the water is warm enough to swim in.

Still looking seriously at the T1

AJ, I have 12-year old long sleeve (a ProMotion) suit. I am thinking of getting a ong-sleeve Orca P2. What do you think of your Orca and things like the fit, the tightness, the durability, the “low” neck, the ease of putting on and removal, etc.

Thanks.

Ironman Stealth (04). Fits better than any other suit I’ve tried and has the least restrictive upper body of any suit out there (except the sleeveless ones of course). of the other suits out there the aquaman was the other one that impressed me - very bouyant

tim (from ironman wetsuits, so i’m biased, but i wouldn’t swim in it unless it was the best)
