debating whether its worth it…actually 50 out 400 downcurrent, 50 in, the in and out being combo swim/dolphin dive. im pretty quick getting out of my wetsuit, but its also a 300m run to transition, easier without a wetsuit. so whats the going rate on time savings per 100? water temp mid 70’s so not really an issue.
Why couldn’t you just wear your tri suit?

It’s worth it for sure. Of course depending on your ability the gain might be marginal but as long as it’s legal you should wear it. A gain is a gain.
Agree. My rule of thumb was always if it’s legal AND the water is wet, wear it.
I’ve seen this blog referenced here before. From this testing, the wetsuit was roughly 10% faster than no wetsuit.
So even at 10 minutes for 500m that’s about a minute faster. As long as you can take off quick like you said then you’re saving time. I wouldnt think you run that much slower with the suit on.
