Wetsuit fit for string bean

I’ve scoured the internets for any help on this, but no luck so far. There aren’t any shops around my home for me to be able to try on a wetsuit and I don’t fit into any categories offered by the various wetsuit fitting charts out there, so I offer the question to you guys and gals.

I’m male, 148 pounds, 6’ tall, 36" chest. I’m a budget shopper too, so if I can make a size 6 work (fits everything but height), then that would be great. What would wearing a wetsuit designed for someone 3 inches shorter than me be like? Workable?

I would spring for a small/tall, but can’t find any decent prices on the size. It seems it is a rare request.

Thanks for the help (yet again).

Sounds like you need a 2 piece wetsuit like the Do Soto T1. This is not a budget suit though. Maybe try calling XTerra wetsuits?

I’m bigger, 6 foot, 38" chest 160 lbs and wear a Small-Long Xterra that fits well, a little snug.

Contact Xterra and ask them if there are any promos going on. If not, wait a week and they will be.

Also, the DeSoto Smart1 and Speed series are great choices.

The biggest area where height will affect you is torso length and sleeve length. If you have a long torso, then the you will need a small tall. Otherwise your legs may ride up a little higher but that should not be too bad

No question, Desoto. At 6’5 and 167, I was able to get a 4 for the top, and 5 for the bottoms. You can give it a try and if you do not like it, send it back for a full refund. Hard to beat.
