I’ll be doing the Bear Mountain Sprint Triathlon as my first tri on September 16th. I’m assuming I’ll need a wet suit for the swim, does anyone know where I can rent one fairly cheaply? Or does anyone have an old one you’d loan to me for $40 for the day? I’m 5’8 and 185 if that helps at all.
I know Jackrabbit sports rents wet suits but I don’t plan on buying one until next year so the $75 rental fee would basically be lost.
I just ordered one from www.wetsuitrental.com, they got good comments from people on here and they will let you choose which brand of wetsuit you get in case you had a particular one that you wanted to try out. They also try to get the wetsuit to you in time for them to expedite a second one to you before your even in case the first doesn’t fit. Not too bad for $35 plus $8 shipping.
Not to change topics, but do you think you’ll need a wetsuit for bear mountain? I’m racing it and wasn’t going to wear one.
Scott, it is starting to get pretty cold at night now so I’m thinking the water temperature will be at a max of 75 but probably much cooler - the race is still 2 weeks away so the water has a chance of dipping into the upper 60s.
Hmm… I suppose I can always bring mine with me and decide on the spot. Thanks for the heads up.
