He looked bad. Hurled some fluid as soon as he took it in. He also stopped so someone could hose him down. One of the butthole race officials yelled at him for doing it. There was NO SHADE on Ali’i. Another pro said the bike ride took a lot out of the guys.

Up on the Queen K. Just went past N.S. Still looks okay, but he’s slowing down on the slight uphills, looked like. Still, can only see someone waaaaay back only on the tops of the hills.
The heat is so bad, the air is shimmering. Some wind from the side, but it’s hot wind. Don’t help. One of the other cars said some guy passed Sindballe and he was flying. Faris?, the guy who passed Taubert (who looked all salty). The sun up here is overhead and to the mntns., so it’s really affecting people.
Runners to the mts. Sun is hitting us on the left of face. By the E.L. and will watch them turn left and downhill.

Cars say that N.S. is headed this way. Wind picked up some. Hot, though. There’s a nice downhill into the E.L., so you can pick up some time. Gotta come back up it, though.
Stadler just got to the E.L.!! He looks good!! Still not breathing hard, but he’s slowed some. His gait is not as good as by the 6mi mark aid station.
I can’t see the next guy, but there are small rolling grades so the next pro could be behind. They say that the guy’s waaaaay back. The turn into the E.L. is at mile 14. Stadler was somewhat stiffer looking, I got to say.
Somebody just told me that one of the top pros was walking the aid stations on the Queen K. I’ll try to find out who. They said he was in the top 10.

Another pro is coming. We’re going to go down the road to where the right hand turn is and watch N.S. come back. He’s so far ahead right now. I’ll let you know how he looks in a few minutes. He’s got to back up that long downhill.

Not Macca. They said he still had a ways before the E.L. Taubert they say but Reid gapped him and is chasing the other German. This is confusing. I can see N.S.!! He’s coming on fast, about a half mile away. This is a camping area, so some of the locals are going to give him a big ALOHA!! and I taught them to yell SCNELL!! SCHNELL!!
