Congrats! That is a pretty big name to bring to your race. Heck, I might even drive down to watch.

Sounds like you are offering a lot of other nice amenities as well. All very positive things. Keep it up.

Thanks! Last year we had Simon Lessing, Craig Alexander and Samatha McGlone. It will be great to have Chrissy racing in Lawrence. Hope you can come race or watch the race! Z

Hi Tom
What a great deal having the world champ there.
Can you let us know the water temps as we get close to the training day. Will the swim course be marked at all?

Ryan is in charge of the Training Day in April. Not sure what the water temps will be, but I am sure the ice should be gone by then!

I will not be getting in the water, but will be joining everyone on the bike ride.

Also looking forward to June and watching Chrissy compete in Kansas. Maybe I can get her to wear a Dorothy outfit or run in with toto! Z

Water temps…cold but not toooo cold. If I had to guess I would say 55-59. Our first tris of the year usually kick off around mid-May. We won’t be offering a swim course for the training day. I have got some local roadies patrolling the bike course.

The bike course will be marked…but don’t expect a race setup. Last year we did this after a local tri got canceled at the last minute…we had around 150-180 show up. I would expect around 250 to show up this year. It all depends on the weather though…last year we held it on the first beautiful day of Spring. This year I will trade a bad training weather day for a great race day weather!

Last year we had so many turn out at the training day that the Sheriff’s Dept called me and thought that the race was in progress! The Sheriff called and said “did I miss the race…we just got a call in to dispatch saying there was “hundreds” of “triathaloners” everywhere!”

Ryan - Will you have Velvet Creme Popcorn for us after the training ride?

I see that they are a sponsor of the race and I love thier cheese popcorn.

Also - Please be sure that we have no wind for both the training ride and on race day.

Z

Also looking forward to June and watching Chrissy compete in Kansas. Maybe I can get her to wear a Dorothy outfit or run in with toto! Z

'Scuse me?
My Toto will take her on any day. She can be Glenda the Good Witch, ok?

Love,
Dorothy

bt - you will always be my favorite Dorothy! Z
