Well Sergio, at least THIS wasn't you

I know this happens >4x/day in Vancouver, but it still SUCKS.

there is a special circle in hell for bike thieves.

Brutal.

Very unfortunate indeed.
However, taking into consideration my bike cost about 8 times less than his bike, assuming I have a 8K bike, I am not sure If I will leave it unlock even if I am 5 meters from it and this bike helps me pay my bills…

Cheers,
Fred.

I’m surprised no one has started to collect funds for this guy;-)
.

The Sergio would have been able to run down whoever stole his bike. he’s speedy!

He wouldn’t have needed to run him down… The Sergios aura of power would have scared him off before he got that close.

That assumes that the bike thief wasn’t Chuck Norris…which I believe it was.

When you park your bike outside the coffee shop, put it in the biggest gear first. If someone is going to jump on and try to make a quick getaway he’ll need pretty impressive power to accelerate in a 53x11 faster than you can run.

Or you can undo the rear quick release. When he goes to pedal the wheel will jump out of the drop outs and the guy will be going nowhere. At this point I advise you beat the sweet crap out of him. Or you can also take the front wheel off.

(Note: don’t try this with horizontal dropouts).

Although I feel sorry for him, that particular sentence cracked me up:

“Elite athletes often don’t carry bike locks because they’re concerned about weight.”

I think this is still better than any comment on spandex…

I always bring a light cable lock if I am traveling with my racebike/racewheels.
