I still feel sick from the drugs and just got off of my 4 hours “lay flat”, I had some Viaca Versa (Doc’s please tell me the real name) episode where my HR dropped to less than 20bpm while they were pressing on me after they took out the “bananna” and the “boomerang”.
Turns out I have a collapsed artery in my arm/hand. Not thining clearly right now. My stomach is blue (from them cleaining me) and I feel like hell. I will post more later.
Very common Chip - don’t worry (vaso vagal syncope that is). The vagus nerve has some powerful action! I pick up people (almost always young men) all the time in my office Actually, it was even more common with injections in the Army. So, when do you find out the results? Are your vascular buddies expecting some weird AV fistula or something?

… it was even more common … in the Army.

Oddly enough I have seen it most often on young fit men as well. The last one that told me of his experience got .2mg of Glycopyrolate before they stuck the groin. Kind of tough to do during an IV start though. Why does it happen with young, fit people?
Superman: yeah, I think it is a combination of things. First, young tough guys love to “internalize” things. When they are nervous inside, the vagus is firing, bradycardia, BP down and lights out! Just about the time they say something they are already gray and white, diaphoretic and going down. BP and resting HR is already low since they are fit and there isn’t much room for error. Women tend to squirm and even yell, but don’t try to hide the fact they don’t like needles - and they rarely go vagal (but when they do, it is worse - had one aspirate on me last year!)
could have formed from biking in the aero position, then impeding flow to the digit/hand from the fistula as blood returns from the artery to the vein before it reaches the hand/finger
