As a programmer who has been paid to do Web programming for real companies, I understand that nobody is perfect. Still, when one clicks on a link on USAT’s home page that purports to say something about the USAT Duathlon National champions who get no respect, one expects better than

I mean, no web app should ever show its dirty laundry to an end user. Never. You gotta do better than this. Bleah. I can only imagine what h2ofun is experiencing in his breathless quest for updated rankings…
Same think on ranking. I know they were moving systems around. And yes, I have done this a few times and have screwed it up.
They are trying, nothing wrong with that.

Yes, there is something wrong with that. It’s called screwing up the planning or implementation of an upgrade or changes, and should not happen. There’s this thing called “testing”.
Let’s not forget though. “Little” companies such as this one generally don’t employ web developers/ sys admins full time. usually, some poor shlub gets stuck doing this job having to use Forntpage or some other piece of crap software like that. It’s not an excuse, just the nature of the beast. At least from what I have seen.

Exactly, and this is the board that wishes us to vote and relinquish our oversight powers of them, and any future boards. It is not that they are bad people, or have bad intentions, it’s just that they think thay know better, and what is good for us. Anyone see any similaraties to what has happened lately in Washington??? It’s all about the old saying about power corrupting, so let’s not fall into the trap. Please make an effort to vote you all out there, and let’s not have things rammed down our throat by the USOC. If we don’t, then it will be our own fault…Tell a friend too…

if they made their page using MS Frontpage - I’m impressed.
