It is exceptionally flat here but we have found a course that allows us to run over four pretty decent bridges, 11 miles gets us somewhere over 800 feet of climbing. Usually we run on Sunday mornings but a few weeks ago we ran Saturday morning. As we came off the last bridge we run past two shipyard parking lots and then ran through two big clouds of pot smoke.
Haaaaate that when it happens … you can’t get the ‘taste’ of the smoke out of your mouth. ![]()
If that’s not the definition of classy, I don’t what is…
I need that sign!!
Walking up to the gym for my treadmill/weights workout, a nice white Lamborghini …
… and a filthy grey sports bra
I don’t know which was in the spot first, or if the underwear fell out of the car (or belonged to a passenger, thereof)
Still up there somehow, even with some nasty storms we’ve had over the past couple of days (if you saw the WC match from The Linc on Saturday, you’ll get it)
My thinking on the branch’s enduring steadfastness is this: because it is in the middle of the woods, essentially, even though it hangs over the road, it’s “protected” all around by the rest of the trees, which buffer even the strongest winds, so it’s not taking a full hit
If it was on the exposed edge of the woods, it would’ve been gone long ago
That’s pure gold.
We have a new entry in the Broken/Hanging Branch Derby
I don’t think this one is going to last nearly as long as the other (which is still hanging, as far as I know - I’ll get us a status later in the week)
It’s right behind our development
It’s on a pretty busy street
It’s low enough that someone could just pull it down, if they had a mind to, or easily cut it back with a ladder & a chainsaw
Or a first entry in the ‘what the heck are all those cables doing the in the tree’ derby.
I cannot understand why someone would abandon a set of paint-by-numbers paints by the side of the road
As I suspected, it’s been taken care of, pretty quickly - apparently by the “just yank it down!!!” method, as no saw-marks are evidenced
And yes, there is a pretty sketchy wiring/cabling situation going on in this section between two or three phone poles
It seems that there is a large pet/pet owner population that requires substantial assistance
